News Article 303 - Veterans Latest
BRIDPORT VETERAN’S GOLF
by Peter Crowter
Bridport Veteran’s latest competition was the George Adams Cup played under Stableford rules. To any ex-vets reading this, yes we now know we should have played a Medal but half the players were out on the course before the mistake on the starter sheet was noticed.Apologies to George if he was watching from above.
There was a turnout of 62 and despite the strong breeze some very steady scoring with 23 players carding scores in the thirties. There were a couple of regulars in the top 3 of Div. 1, namely Messrs. Nicoll and Boggis but the man who led the field was David Dowling with a fine score of 38.One point behind was leader of Div.2, Chris Roberts who, along with Dave Dowling and Angus Nicoll received a 1 shot handicap reduction.
