Crimewatch reports on thefts from golf clubs.

Following on from the article about thefts from golf clubs in the January issue of Golf Club Management, the BBC television programme
Crimewatch, on January 27, covered the story and released CCTV images of the suspects.

The programme showed footage from Taunton Vale GC in Somerset, where a man described by presenter Rav Wilding as “looking shifty” breaks into a locker room on his second attempt and steals thousands of pounds-worth of equipment.

“He is a seasoned pro operating up and down the country,” stated Mr Wilding. The man often uses an accomplice in order to break into locker rooms, and the programme showed CCTV footage of the duo at Oakmere Park GC in Nottingham.

“They are believed to have targeted over 50 golf clubs, pilfering over half a million quid of kit,” added Mr Wilding.

Summer ball tickets are now available for purchase from the office, price £35 each, Saturday 10th July. Tickets can be reserved, preferably by email, and will be held in the office for a limited time only, before resale, so please remember.
